Teacher guilty of serious misconduct for pulling ear plug from ear...
The Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal has found a teacher guilty after he pulled an ear plug from a student’s ear in class.
It found that the teacher’s actions were likely to adversely impact the student’s wellbeing, to reflect adversely on the teacher’s fitness to be a teacher and bring the profession into disrepute. It was also an unreasonable use of physical force in breach of the Teaching Council Rules.
The teacher was censured and has to advise his employer with a copy of the decision and any further employer for two years.
