The New Zealand Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal has found a teacher to have committed serious misconduct when she was in possession of cannabis and methamphetamine.  There was no evidence that the drugs were for her personal use and the teacher was not teaching at the time of the offending, but held a practising certificate.

The Tribunal decided that it did not need to strike the teacher off the roll of registered teachers, but instead imposed a condition that she alert any potential employer to the disciplinary findings for a period of two years.
